Oregon operations to support the continuing strong demand for technical workers. “We
have seen a major increase in contract engineering needs over the last 6 months within
our Portland region” says Donn Harvey Techlink Northwest’s President. He points out
that the use of temporary engineering support is historically a leading indicator of an
improving technology labor market. Techlink Northwest’s Portland staff reports
increasing difficulty finding available engineers with certain skill sets, increases in client
demand for permanent engineering talent; a higher than usual conversion of temporary
engineers to regular employees and upward wage pressure at all engineering levels.
